RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1497522

People

(Reporter: ekkehard, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_3) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/12.0.3 Safari/605.1.15

Steps to reproduce:

On macOS configured only with Crypto Token Kit (CTK) a web authentication request for PIV does not prompt to for PIV pin code.

Actual results:

No pin code prompt was presented.

Expected results:

Firefox should support CTK and allow for PIV authentication to support governmental institution. Currently that is only available by installing tokend, OpenSC or middleware that is based upon them. These solutions rely CDSA Open Source code that has been deprecated in macOS since as of OS X Lion 10.7 in 2011. macOS Mojave 10.14.4 beta 4 breaks CDSA support.

This should support CTK for macOS as that is the Apple supported standard.
