Each time I open Thunderbird, it freezes while downloading new email, sometimes taking 2 hours to allow my access. During this time it obeys no commands. The person who opened this page for me passed away and I have very little computer knowledge. Hoping someone can help. Thank you.

I'm wondering how you managed to create this bug report without bugzilla recording your OS. Please state your OS.

Do you still have the problem?
Is this a computer that you configured with THunderbird, or someone else?
What antivirus and malware software is runninng on this machine?
Have you posted any questions to the support forum?
