Details

Currently the image_src values on the Pocket feeds have a hardcoded ?resize= filter, which is used by Thumbor to dynamically size images on the backend.

I'd like it if we could add a raw_image_src (or whatever name is appropriate) that contains the image URL minus any Thumbor parameters.

(EG: http://example.org/a.jpg instead of http://example.org/a.jpg&resize=w450)

This will allow us to leave it up to the client to decide what processing is wanted (if any).

Curious what our status is on this?

It's on my radar, but I haven't gotten to this yet.

Talked with folks yesterday in #pkt-newtab about adding any additional fields and we decided not to do that, so I'll go ahead and add this field. Should be ready and deployed by Tuesday next week.

Reopening as raw_image_src will also need to be available on spocs.
