There is a online advertising legislative/policy meeting coming up later in the year between Mozilla and someone else (sorry, I don't know the details), in which that other party will be arguing that the current mechanism for user choice for online advertising (e.g. the AdChoices icon) is sufficient and adherence to that icon should be a core part of the policy. We know from prior industry literature that this icon has many, many usability errors and is ineffective at providing consumer notice and choice.

Peter D. informally requested some of that research documentation so that Mozilla would be able to argue against this point of the policy.
