  1. On Firefox Android
  2. Visit https://instagram/.
Note: you will need to log in with existing Instagram account.
  3. Add a new story. This can be accessed by tapping the camera icon on the top left side of the page.
  4. Select a random picture.
  5. Add a text to the image. This is done by tapping the "Aa" button on the top-right. See attached image for reference.
  6. Try to move, resize, and/or rotate the text.
In Firefox, the text moves quite slow and sometimes make the site unresponsive, while it works fine in Chrome or other WebView-based browsers.

Also as reported in https://webcompat.com/issues/14184#issuecomment-467335449
and followup comment.
There are some similar performance issue on

  1. With Firefox Android
  2. Go to https://pqina.nl/shiny/
  3. Move the device

Observer the shiny effect on the card. This is shoppy, not smooth.

Flags: webcompat?

According to the WebCompat issue, this is reproducible on a Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro (SM-J730G/DS, Released 2017)

We definitely need a profile for this to make this bug actionable, but this is definitely a responsiveness bug.

Making it p2, since Instagram is a pretty popular web property.

Whiteboard: [webcompat] [qf] → [webcompat] [qf:p2:responsiveness]

This is reproducible on Moto G5, profile http://bit.ly/2YrG4cM.

The site was unusable while I was doing this action. Lots of DOM stuff happening in the profile and it looks like mozilla::gfx::AlphaBoxBlur::BoxBlur_NEON function consumed a lot of time
