Steps to reproduce:

I started to type into the URL bar a location I normally visit and, as usual, the URL bar history dropdown of previously visited links appears.

Actual results:

The URL bar history dropdown appeared but it was not showing previously visited URLs. Instead, it showed a bit of the top of the web page.

Expected results:

The URL bar history dropdown should appear and show previously visited URLs with a static background color.

It looks like a graphical problem, please try updating your graphic drivers and then, if it still happens, attach to the bug report a log from about:support page.

Yes, looks like it to me to. Except that the issue didn't appear until I updated to 66.x. This machine is old and has no newer drivers than 8.15.10.2993. It's Device ID 0x0046.

To be more specific about the issue, it doesn't happen 100% of the time. I'd say it happens 5-10% of the time when I type in the URL bar. I can often type a specific triggering URL (or first few letters thereof) into the URL repeatedly and either replicate the behavior or not.

If in the instance that I am able to replicate the behavior, what console should I have open to log the behavior as I am causing it? I tried to have the Browser Console open the time it was happening and just before I reported the issue but I didn't find anything useful.

You could try disabling hardware acceleration in preferences (if it's enabled), there's no specific console for graphical issues unfortunately.

Bummer. So as I am typing into the URL bar and the issue is happening, there is nothing logging the typing / event? "Use recommended performance settings" is enabled and has been enabled since before 66.x. Since it's not very frequent I can live with it. If there's anything else you can think of, do let me know. I'd like to keep this bug open for now.

I am starting to think this was fixed in FF67. I bumped myself up to 67.0b10 (and now 67.0b11) and it's not happened in a few days. I'll close this bug by Friday if it doesn't happen again.

Well, whatever the issue was, I am not seeing it anymore after updating to 67.0 b10, b11 and now b12. So not sure what to say here. If it comes back again, I'll re-open this bug. Resolving as WFM as I'm not sure what would be a better choice.
