1. Using DEL to delete recipients "forwards" (to the right of the cursor) unexpectedly gets stuck at the end of the previous row (backwards). 2. Using Backspace to delete recipients characterwise is odd and error-prone because it suddenly eats into other recipients. What if I just want to delete a single recipient via keyboard?

We want to bring the improvements of bug 1527547 to the addressing widget of mailing list dialogs, too.
Auto-selection and Del/Backspace are not working yet. I

While the current poor usability of the old mailing list edit dialog still exists in TB 102.4.2 (64-bit), we're not going to fix this as proposed here. For the dialog, this would have been obsoleted by the arrival of pills, but the entire dialog itself won't stay as-is.
As a workaround, managing existing mailing list members is much easer in the list view:
- Select mailing list in the directory tree on the left, so that members will be shown as contact items in the contacts list.
- Select and manage contained contact items as required, which is fully keyboard accessible.
