User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new profile with WebRender enabled. Start Firefox and make sure from about:support that WebRender is in use. (I tested on Linux, not sure how important that is.)
- Open a few windows (empty, that is just Ctrl+N or Ctrl+Shift+P). Depending on the build it may take from about 2 or 3 to more than 40 to reproduce.
Actual results:
Some windows display only part of the page (in older builds a black page is displayed). See the attached screenshot.
Expected results:
The whole page should be displayed.
The step 2 in my STR is very problematic. Since the issue is intermittent, the way I used to find out if the issue is present in a build, was to open many windows quickly using the shortcuts. The problem is, that while the issue has become very frequent in the latest build of nightly (Build ID 20190331090052), it seems it goes back a couple of months. It's infrequent in older builds but sometimes it may take a few tries to happen even in the latest build, so unless I automate the task (which I can't) and use some statistics, I can't be sure whether the issue I'm seeing is due to the recent regression or the older one.
Because of this, I wasn't able to locate the recent regression, but it was relatively easy to find the older. Mozregression pointed to Bug 1518405.
