Configure Thunderbird to return to the message list after deleting a message being viewed in a separate tab. Now open a message in a separate tab and click the delete button. Note that the message remains displayed, i.e., you are not returned to the message list. Also, you will see this in the console:

NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED: Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsITreeSelection.select]

Hmm, I thought the malfunction is only on deletion of messages in stand-alone windows, but apparently not.

This was caused by an M-C change and we still haven't fixed the issue. In fact, there are 31 test disabled due to this malfunction.
