User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0
Steps to reproduce:
go to options, home page, have mhy preferred home page loaded, click on make current page my home page, doesn't retain
Actual results:
next time I sign in, i get a blank URL bar with "Google search", no retained home page. Then when I thypie in that site, or may other ;sites, the little ping-dot goes back and forth, back and forth and often doesn't even load the page so I have to give up and go to a different browser
Expected results:
obviously, it should hav e retained my desired home page and loaded it the next time I opened firefox--I found something similar in your bugzilla list, but it hadn't b een addressed in 7 months--what is the point in listing something if no one fixes it???

Hi,
I have tested your issue on latest FF release (66.0.3) and latest Nightly build and could not reproduce it. I followed the steps, set a new home page, close the browser, open it again and it starts with the page that I set as home page.
If the issue is still reproducible on your end, can you please retest this using latest FF release and latest Nightly build (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and report back the results ? When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile (https://goo.gl/AWo6h8), maybe even safe mode (https://goo.gl/AR5o9d), to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause.
Can you tell me if the URL that you type in Custom URLs section, from Options, remains saved after you close and open the browser again, or after reopening the home page section is set as default?
Thank you for your report.
