Affected versions

  • Firefox 66.0.2
  • Firefox 67.0b9
  • FIrefox 68.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10 x64
  • Ubuntu 18.04 x64
  • macOS 10.13

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to https://www.w3schools.com/HTML/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_geolocation_error
  2. Click on "Try It" button.
  3. On the prompt click on "Allow Location Access".
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 a few times.
  5. Click on "Try it" button and then click on "Don't Allow".
  6. Repeat step 5.

Expected result

  • The permission prompt should be displayed again.

Actual result

  • Nothing happens, the prompt is not displayed until you refresh the page.

Regression range

  • This is a regression. I can't reproduce the issue on Nightly from 2017-02-02. I will try to find the regression range as soon as possible.

Additional notes

  • Look at the attached gif.
  • This issue happens on all the sites that uses geolocation.

I managed to find a regression range:

Has Regression Range: --- → yes
Has STR: --- → yes

The most likely candidate in that list looks like bug 1206232.

This is our temporary blocking to prevent permission spam. It works as intended.
