1544281 - Content hangs in Fenix and navigation no longer works

STR:

• Fenix (from Play store) on Pixel 3
• Visit https://www.themu.co.uk/collections/muone

Expected:

• Site continues loading
• Can navigate to other pages

Actual:

• Site loads forever (I see weird loads on desktop)
• Cannot stop load
• Can enter new URLs but nothing happens when trying to navigate
• Can open new tabs, but they don't even begin to load

There seem to be problems with interrupting run-away content. Not sure if this is network or JS holding the the thread.

This happens in general browsing a few times a day for me and requires going to app settings and using Force Stop to get a working browser. Simply closing session or restarting from launcher isn't enough to reset things.

I've noticed the same problem intermittently on some sites, but it isn't consistent. Swiping the activity away from Recents appears to resolve the symptoms until it happens again.

On the latest Nightly Fenix (Build #11041212 running GV 68.0a1-20190408104625) on my Pixel 3XL running Android Q, this site seems to reproduce the problem consistently.

I also verified this still happens with the latest 68.0.20190414095735 build of GeckoView.

I've seen this before as well, but it always seems to happen when I'm not at my desk. The URL in comment #0 seems to load fine for me, however.

This is a dupe of Bug 1528279, I don't think it's related to js hanging though. The content process just stops responding.

I'm still reproducing the issue consistently on that URL on a Pixel 3 with latest play store update. One thing I note is that if I wipe the cache (Android Storage options), the page does load successfully the first time. All subsequent loads are busted. Note that the page does 'load', but I can no longer navigate away and all new tabs I try to open are dead-on-arrival.
