We need to localize the new Search Widget.

Discussed this with Andreas, working with Flod.

Can you clarify the needinfo? Right now, I don't know what this bug is about.

Devin, what work is still needed here? I checked Pontoon and the Search Widget strings appear to be localized for 74 locales:

https://pontoon.mozilla.org/fr/firefox-for-android/all-resources/?string=196479

I then manually tested Fennec 67 Beta's Search Widget and the French, German, and Spanish translations work for me.

Thanks, I was just the messenger yesterday during a quick triage, sorry I should've provided context.

Andreas, it looks like we're set here. Can you help me understand any other ways we should verify beyond what Chris and Flod have already done and shared?

Ah, I see now why the widget continued displaying "Search the web". I needed to change my system language rather than my browser language.

So, it seems indeed like we're done here.

Verified as fixed in latest Nightly build 68.0a1 according to link the search widget strings are translated in more than 80 locales.
I tested a locale change to the following languages: es, ru, hu, de, fr, it, ko, nl on a Samsung Galaxy S7 (Android 7) and can confirm that the strings are localized inside the app(search widget).
I will mark this issue as verified as fixed based on Comment 3, Comment 6 and my comment.
