To reproduce this behavior, save an email so that it shows up in the "Drafts" folder. Click on the "Drafts" icon, then on one of the emails. The email is selected using the highlight color. Now select some text in the email. Note that the selected text shows the highlight color, whereas the selected email appears dimmed. After hitting the delete or backspace key the whole email is deleted instead of the text. The visual feedback to the user indicates that it is the selected text block which is the target of the delete command. So the action of the program is surprising. I think it is a common mistake to select a draft email and to attempt editing it without selecting the "Edit message as new" before. Suggestions for a fix: 1. if the text of a draft email can't be edited, don't hightlight it in response to user mouse clicks. Leave the previous hightlight of the selected email intact. 2. or change the user interface for draft emails so that the user can continue editing the text, instead of requiring the "Edit message as new" command (it took me a while to figure this out, other users might simply be lost here). Mozilla version is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530
This is also happening for Linux. But I don't think, this is a bug. You can highlight text to copy it. But you cannot edit the mail this way. Suggesting INVALID. pi
