The new test syslog host doesn't have nginx on it. (
I didn't know if this aspect was puppetized so thought I'd ask.
If not, should I just manually install and configure?

misread the things that the syslog-base installed. Added nginx in puppet and pushed. Verified that it's on the host now.

Sorry for the confusion/inconvenience.

Note that I've just installed it - so puppet isn't trying to manage any of the config - thinking that that would just get in your way in testing.

If that's not a valid assumption, let me know.
