Details

(Whiteboard: [bcs:?])

Device:

  • Nexus 6P (Android 8.1.0).

Builds:

  • Nightly 68.0a1 (2019-05-02);
  • Beta 67.0b16.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to Settings - General - Language and change the language to Latvian (lv), Icelandic (is), Persian (farsi - fa), Urdu (ur), Bengali (bn-BD).
  2. Exit Fennec.
  3. Go to Settings and observe the menu.

Expected result:
The menu should be translated.

Actual result:
"Make Firefox your default browser" is not translated in some languages.

Thanks, Mira. This is indeed a matter of strings not yet translated and not so much a bug/defect in the code or product.

Latvian example untranslated as of today:
https://pontoon.mozilla.org/lv/firefox-for-android/mobile/android/base/android_strings.dtd/?search=your+default&string=198104

I will close as "invalid" assuming if/when the strings get translated they will be bundled in a future release of the app.
