Details

Once the cycle collector can detect cycles going through Rust, we should remove BitsRequest.shutdown and Downloader.cleanup. These functions were added to break a memory cycle that goes through Rust and therefore the cycle collector doesn't recognize. Once that limitation doesn't exist, that code should be removed.

The BitsRequest.shutdown and Downloader.cleanup functions were added in Bug 1546287.
