The DOCTYPE triggers standard mode layout:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4 Final//EN">

The page renders fine if it's removed.
This is correct layout for standards mode -- the site has two floating tables
with auto width next to each other and this is the way it should look in such a
case.

They've changed the doctype to

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

and are now using quirks mode. Page looks good -> WFM.

Site has change DOCTYPE to one that triggers Quirks mode.
