Japanese string is escaped in about:config on Linux. For example, "<kanji>.txt" becomes "%B4%C1%BB%FA.txt" at editor.history_url_0. On Win98, Japanese string becomes a garbage. http://bugzilla.mozilla.gr.jp/showattachment.cgi?attach_id=887 Original report in Bugzilla-jp: http://bugzilla.mozilla.gr.jp/show_bug.cgi?id=2367

This problem occurs in the non-ascii character except for Japanese as well. attached quick hack.
This is also fixed in my about:config megapatch in bug 107418.
2003011722-trunk/Linux works fine. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 107418 ***
