The following code that was added in bug 538331 at the request of Firefox UX has never been used and should be removed.

Per bug 538331 comment #64 the tests are also disabled in bug 1077643 though I haven't checked if they are still disabled.
This does not affect the what's new page which is used and is located in BrowserContentHandler.jsm

I asked Mossop as Firefox module owner whether he is ok with removing this code and he is fine with removing it.

This code was added over 9 years ago per a request from Firefox UX but it has never been used.
This does not affect the What's New page.
