From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020702 BuildID: 2002070203 Attempting to a view a XML file with an XSLT stylesheet referencing a non-existent file via a "file:" URI leads to a very odd display, in which the old contents of the browser window are partially retained. See screen shot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Save the attached XML file 2. visit the XML file (using Open File...) 3. make the browser window larger Actual Results: parts of the previous contents of the browser window are retained, including the non-working image of the scroll bar Expected Results: a blank window, maybe even an error message The pieces of the old display are retained even if the window is hidden and redisplayed or if the reload button is used.
Attachment #90029 - Attachment mime type: text/xml → application/xml
WorksForMe using FizzillaCFM/2002062203. The testcase results in a completely blank, white window area, with all chrome intact.
-> XSLT
Component: XML → XSLT
Let's try again...

somewhat similar to bug 110734, though that is about the stylesheet 404ign
this is once again a parser issue. It just doesn't report all errors. 404, file not found, invalid mime type. document.load should have all the same problems. Heikki, would you please triage that issue, so that we don't get one or two bugs on this a week? The parser is bug 143265 (changing to new, but it could be a duplicate of bugs 110734 or 143265)
