User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/74.0.3729.169 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
I installed the latest version of Firefox (67.0).
Actual results:
Firefox was unable to load any web page and it seemed to be perpetually checking for updates and never found a new one or confirmed that my browser was up to date.
Expected results:
The web pages should have loaded as normal and the browser should have said it was up to date.

Additional Info.
The issue with checking for updates occurs in about:preferences. Firefox just says checking for updates with the little loading circle going round and never settles on a new update or confirms that Firefox is up to date

Could you elaborate more about the storage? Like: the result of this website (https://firefox-storage-test.glitch.me/). This website would show whether your storage is work or not. Thanks!
If there are anything fails (would be shown in red color) at that website, it would be great if you can test that again with a debug build [1]. (Note that please copy your profile folder and test the clone one before testing that) And, post the information from the console (if there are too many lines, maybe only lines with QuotaManager, IndexedDB, Cache, localstorage).
[1] Find your OS and debug build in https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=mozilla-release&revision=bc300136bc6b54fcbb3aa213c7c3265a33fda9c6&selectedJob=249171771
You can click the "B", "Job detail" and then download&run the "target.zip".
