[Affected versions]:

  • Firefox Release 67.0.1, Build ID 20190529121902 and above.

[Affected Platforms]:

  • All Windows
  • All Linux
  • All Mac

[Prerequisites]:

  • Have the folowing prefs in the "about:config" page:
    • "browser.search.region" set to "US"
    • "trailhead.firstrun.branches" set to "join-privacy"

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open the browser with the profile from prerequisites.
  2. Navigate to the "about:welcome" page and dismiss the first run modal.
  3. Click the "How it Works" button from the "Protection From Tracking" card.
  4. Observe the behavior.

[Expected result]:

  • A "Protection From Tracking" related page is opened.

I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Release (67.0.1 Build ID - 20190529130856) and the latest Firefox Nightly (69.0a1 Build ID - 20190606112416) installed, on Windows 10 x64, Arch Linux and Mac 10.14.5. Now, the "How it Works" button no longer redirects to a "Page not found".
