RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1548804

People

(Reporter: mozilla.org, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/73.0.3683.103 Safari/537.36 OPR/60.0.3255.109

Steps to reproduce:

I'm behind a squid proxy.
Until firefox 66, this worked fine.

Since 67 it feels like I need to enter proxy auth for (almost) every single http(s) request the browser makes.
I even stored my password, and selected the option to not prompt for proxy when password is stored, but the popups keep coming. And it made it impossible for me to keep using Firefox.

Actual results:

I go to amazon.com, I get 4x proxy prompt before the page loads, then if I click a link, I get again greeted with proxy prompt.

I go to deepl.com, I get 3 proxy prompts before the page loads, then after writting 1-2 characters it asks proxy, then every 1-2 words it asks proxy.

Expected results:

Ask me 1 time, then stop bugging me.

Small remark I forgot to put into the description. This bug is only in private mode. But since I'm a bit parranoid I only used private mode.
Also, maybe usefull, I'm on Linux (Mint).
And I downloaded a clean version of firefox 67 for mozilla.org, and without any customisations or changed settings I was able to 'reproduce' the issue.
