If you open a newsgroup, and there are threads with new messages in them, Mozilla does not display the proper icon. The icon I am speaking of is the little "spool of thread" that appears next to every thread and shows a green arrow in NN4 when the thread contains an unread message.

Worksforme in current branch builds in both modern and classic themes, collapsed or expanded threads and when parent message is either read or unread. What build are you using? I'll check a fairly current trunk build. Is it still a problem for you?
Worksforme with a july08 trunk build. Marking worksforme.
