Selecting a window from the Window menu does nothing.

I'm using the latest nightly trunk, 2002070310. I've noticed some strange things
about the Window menu that I had never noticed before. I searched bugzilla and
found nothing related but that also seems strange given the nature of the bug.
When I click on the Window menu while multiple Mozilla windows are opened the
current window doesn't have a dot next to it like it should. When I choose one
of the windows from this menu the dot is then placed next to that item but focus
is NOT moved to that window. Therefore I have to select particular windows from
the windows taskbar in order to view them.
This happens in Classic, Modern, and all of my other themes.
Worksforme on 2002070310, Win2K. Probably a profile corruption problem. Have you
tried on a new profile?

Same too. W2k - Gecko/20020703 also not work.

Same on Linux with 2002070408
-> OS/Platform ALL
Also got JS errors like this:
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code:
0x80570018 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_IID) [nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570018
(NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_IID)" location: "JS frame ::
chrome://communicator/content/tasksOverlay.js :: checkFocusedWindow :: line 193"
data: no]
Is the component XP Toolkit?
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All

From what I can tell, the fix for bug #132175 caused this. Line 193 was last
changed as part of the patch for that bug.
I'm changing this to new as I got the same error, although I can't confirm how I
got the error.

I can now confirm that selecting "Mail & Newsgroups" from the "Window" menu
causes the Javascript error, along with a whole lot of warnings, one of which is
reported in Bug #154981.

For completeness, and for no other reason, there are still some JavaScript
warnings when you select something from the Window menu, however these are
reported elsewhere.
I wonder if this bug should be marked as a dup of Bug #154981 rather then WFM.
However, I'm not 100% certain of that, so I'm going to leave it as it is.

->REOPENing bug..
Works fine on Linux, but on OSX it doesn't work _good_ (2002071303).
- Open Mozilla on OSX
- Select the Window menue.. there is no dot or something like this..
When you click on the Desktop and ReFocus mozilla, the hook (is this the right
word in english? :) ) will be there..
..but if you press APPLE+N and view the Window menue again, it's gone again..
Selecting a Window from the Window menu works, its just a cosmetic problem..

Are you seeing any JavaScript errors or warnings? You can open the javascript
console from Tools-WebDevelopment-JavascriptConsole.

Yes, one error:
-------------
Error: popup has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/mailNavigatorOverlay.xul Line: 110
-------------
I get this only once (and it's there after the startup).
Making the Hook in the Windowmenu disappear and reappear doesn't bring me a new
JS error..
It's just a cosmetic problem.. The _function_ of the Window menu works (again)
under OSX.

The error you're getting is reported in Bug #108745, and I don't think is
related to this bug.
Anyone else seeing this problem on Mac OS X?
Comment 16•23 years ago

Yes, i think the JS error has nothing to do with the cosmetic problem on OSX..
The cosmetic problem startet imho with this bug and didn't go away.. just the
function of the window menu came back..
