Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0

Steps to reproduce:

Tried to install addons. Affected addons include Vimium, Unpaywall and "Disable Javascript".

This has been happening after upgrading from version 64 with the addon certificate hotfixes applied to version 67.

This is Firefox version 67 on Arch Linux.

Actual results:

When trying to install the addon from addons.mozilla.org, it reports "Download failed. Please check your connection.". When trying to load the addon from file, there's an "Addon is corrupted" error.

This also happens on a fresh profile on the same device.

Expected results:

Addons should have installed normally.

I should note that I have another device with the same versions of all packages including firefox, and everything works there. Since this problem appears to be invariant of the profile dir, any help in narrowing down the cause would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot reproduce your issue on Ubuntu 18.04.5 after updating the Firefox Release v64.0.2 to 67.0 and then to 67.0.2 so I cannot confirm it. We do not have any Arch Linux machines for testing purposes.

I will set this bug's component as (Toolkit) Add-ons manager and hope for a better triage.
Do you guys know if this issue could be related to the latest certificate changes?

@dexterlb: Does this issue still occur on the latest Firefox Release version: v67.0.2?
Thank you for your contribution!

I can confirm the exact same behaviour under 67.0.2.
Copying a profile from a machine without the bug lets me use the addons already installed in the profile, but I still can't add new ones that have the issue.

Also, let me clarify: this only happens to some addons:
Affected: Vimium, Unpaywall, Disable Javascript
Unaffected: Dark Reader, Tampermonkey, uBlock Origin

I can neither identify anything different between my two machines, neither between the two groups of addons.
