Steps to reproduce:

I use debian and use the package system for thunderbird and calendar-google-provider. Thunderbird used to show the calendar tab until some weeks ago and I waited it to be solved by using debian updates because I did not change a corresponding information (like the google akkound password) but it stayed so. There is no way to activate the calendar tab anymore.
The extensions lightning and calendar-google-provider are enabled and show no sign of error. I can deactive them, thunderbird restarts and I can activate them again - no change happens.

Actual results:

I could not solve my issue on my own. I tried a lot by searching and so I am able to present you the information from the calendar error console I attach.

silly me tried to hide my emailaddress, obviously I failed :(

I wonder what happened some weeks ago.

Reporter, do you have a problem if you disable all other extensions except Lightning and Provider for Google Calendar?

What versions of Thunderbird, Lightning and Provider do you have?

Thunderbird 60.7.0 (64-bit)

Lightning 6.2.7

Google Calendar Provider 4.1

no more extensions installed

no other plugins installed

themes bright and dark both disabled

If I disable Google Calendar Provider, I don't have a lightning calender neither.

If I go to lightning configuration, thunderbird configuration window opens, but there is no lightning tab.

linux related?

I don't know - it is running on debian linux though.

Sacsha,

My Ubuntu build of Thunderbird 60.7.0 has both the xul-ext-gdata-provider and xul-ext-lightning extensions installed from Ubuntu.

Lightning is version 6.2.6.1 and gdata-provider is version 4.4.2.

My Thunderbird build of Thunderbird 60.7.1 has Lightning 6.2.7.1 and gdata-provider 4.4.2.

I would say you have the wrong version of gdata-provider, would suggest removing it and installing version 4.4.2 from Thunderbird. Use Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Enter "provider" (without quotes) in the search field. Click the magnifying glass. Click "Add to Thunderbird".

I had some time today so fired up a LiveUSB of Debian 9.9 Gnome and the Thunderbird is version 60.6.0 with Lightning 6.2.6.1.

I could not find the Google Calendar Provider extension in the Software application or Synaptic Package Manager. So I'm not sure how you got a version 4.1. That version doesn't exist according to https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/versions/

Installed the Provider for Google Calendar Version 4.4.2 extension using the steps in Comment 6 and don't see a problem.

Have you tried that suggestion?

Thanks WaltS48 for your effort which supported my to try the othe way to use those plugins.
So I deinstalled lightning and calendar-google-provider by the apt package system and then installed them by the plugin system of thunderbird itself. Worked as a charm!

Now I have
Thunderbird 60.7.1
lightning 6.2.5
Provider for Google Calendar 4.4.2

Problem solved. Thanks to all readers and supporters!
