Mozilla 1.0/1.1a worked fine with the first setting for the outgoing server. The only strange thing was that in the advanced SMTP settings there was the sever _twice_. After having changed the sever name I get the message "Unable to connect to the SMTP-server". However the server is never contacted. There is no network-traffic before this error message. If I erase all entries and insert a brand-new entry as SMTP-server it works again. Something with the list of servers does not work. With mozilla 1.0 I get could not connect to %S or something like this. /Bernd

This is also happening in the nightly builds for Windows (ME). I can't change my user name.
I've seen this occur with 1.0 on Windows XP on four machines, and with 1.1 on XP and 98 on two machines. As described, we had to remove every SMTP server listed except the default, create a new default with the correct settings, and delete the old default. Nothing out of the ordinary could be seen in any of the duplicate SMTP servers listed, yet they failed to work, with the two error messages already mentioned.
this should be fixed now -> wfm
