Failure Log
(#0) Error: WMF VPX video decoding is disabled due to a previous crash.
(#49): CP+[GFX1-]: WMF VPX video decoding is disabled due to a previous crash.
[...]
I believe I've seen this issue. To make sure we're seeing the same thing, does the audio keep playing while the video is paused?
The audio does not keep playing if I remember correctly. I'd say I'm 75% sure it doesn't keep playing but I'll have to confirm once it happens again.
Thanks for checking and confirming that. I'm pretty sure I've seen the same issue on my home desktop. Audio continues, but video freezes and doesn't resume even after waiting for minutes. Pausing and resuming the video gets the video playing again. Sometimes happens within minutes, sometimes can watch for hours without issue.
I've seen this on nightly, updating flags accordingly.
I am traveling, but will ad my relevant system info to this bug next week and will try and dump more info.

(Just to mention it even though comment 4 is not using WebRender: bug 1553969 could still occur on 67 when using an alternative Twitch player.)

Bryce, have you had any chance to get back to this? If you can narrow down what it takes to reproduce, perhaps we can find someone else that's also able. Bug 1571282 makes it sound like it can be repeated consistently.
I've been keeping an eye out, and see it still happening, but do not have a reliable repro. My current conjecture:
- The issue may be load based. Often see it at the start of twitch streams, which I imagine is a high load state due to filling buffers and what not.
- I usually see this on my personal machine while I'm watching a stream and playing games myself. If I see this happening mid stream, it's possibly the result of the game increasing load.
- The issue is not impacted by if twitch is in high or low latency mode, I've seen it happen in either. That said, if you're stalled and switch modes it will break the stall (much like changing resolution or pausing and playing).
I normally repro this on a personal machine, which is not as setup for Firefox debugging as my dev devices. However, this is something that I'd like to take some more time to look at. Holding NI.
Jeffery, you mentioned in bug 1571282 that you see this when you start a twitch video. Are you seeing this with live streams as well as VoDs? Does it always happen every time you open a video, or only sometimes?

Both live streams and VoDs I am facing the problem. From my experience today. The freezing happens every time I play the video, even if I replay it or drag back the time.

For this video, It consistently freezing at 1-8 seconds. The sound and video time will keep going. In Chrome, I can play this video very smoothly.
PS: I have a video recorded my screen but I don't find a place to upload it.
Thanks for the update! There's an "Attach New File" button at the bottom of the header on this bug that should let you upload your recording to this bug -- it would be useful to see.
If you force the video resolution/quality to be really low on the twitch video, does it still stall?

I am having the same problem with the latest version of Mozilla,
I have good internet 300 mbps and PC setup rtx 3080, dual monitor,
Problem as described above:
Freezes time to time frequently, audio continues, stream video freezed, if you want to continue stream video, you need to pause and play or refresh the current stream tab.
Thank you in advance.
