what are your setting for OCSP? (prefs->priv & sec->validation)
Settings are as follows: CRL is empty "USe OCSP only ... specify service URL" Problem goes away when OCSP is turned off!

Problem seems to be that sourceforge had broken certificates. The error hasn´t shown up now for about 2 months or so, IMHO this bug can be closed.
