156278 - pop server inaccessible after idle period

Configuration is Mozilla 1.0 (build ID:2002052918) on Linux PC, multiple POP
accounts configured. 

If system is idle for some time retrieval of mail messages stops working for one
of the POP accounts. Messages are no longer retrieved automatically, but even
worse they cannot be retrieved manually by clicking the "get messages" button.
When "get messages" is clicked the pointer turns into a stopwatch and stays that
way. The status indication does not change to indicate server access. I have
verified that when this occurs that the server is indeed alive and has messages
available for download.

The only way to deal with this problem is to exit and restart Mozilla. At this
point both POP accounts become normally accessible again. At least for a while. :-)
