1. start a new e-mail with CTRL-M . The "From" is set to your default account identity, which has "sign" by default. 2. change the "from" to another identity that has different S/MIME settings - no signing or encrypting, and no key 3. click send. You'll get an error that mozilla can't find the cert/key to sign the message. Mozilla should have switched the S/MIME settings when the identity was changed. This should be done as long as the user hasn't manually modified the sign/encrypt settings before switching identities, in which case no reset should be performed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a dup of bug 106988. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 106988 ***
