Steps to reproduce:

1. Load any website
2. Open Inspector/inspect any item (works)
3. Toggle Responsive Design Mode
4. Try to inspect any item

Actual results:

Doesn't inspect any item, throws errors.

Refreshed, no addons. Regular Firefox and Developer edition. 69.0b3 (but I had this happen year ago too, I don't know what fixes it and keeps happening it again)

I also facing this same problem. I also need a solution of this issue . It's a Firebox bug in latest version .

"Inspect Element" from the context menu is not working in RDM.
Using the Element Picker from the Inspector seems to be a viable workaround for now until we fix Bug 1486717
