User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.0 Safari/605.1.15

Steps to reproduce:

Attempted to allow Firefox to self-update.

Actual results:

Was presented with a dialogue box stating that:
"Firefox Software Update.app" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

I attempted to open the app via the security pane in System Preferences, but that has not worked. Now I cannot launch Firefox at all - I just get this warning from the OS repeatedly.

Expected results:

The updater should have been able to run, and Firefox should launch.

This behavior is persisting after downloading a fresh copy of Firefox 68.0 from the web site.

thanks for filing. This is a dupe of Bug 1563631. There is a workaround in that bug until we uplift the notarization work to 68.
