commercial trunk build: 2002-07-09-08 win98 Selecting a brand new folder in local folders loads the previously viewed message in the message pane. Not sure if this is a regression caused by RDF patch. Steps to repro: Open mail Read a message in the inbox Then select local folder in the folder pane Right click and create a brand new local folder select that the folder you just created Actual result: You will notice the message pane displays the last message you read from the inbox. Expected: When folder is empty there should be nothing loaded in the message pane.

Checked this on 07-03 trunk build and see different results. The previously viewed message flashes in the message and goes away. Then loads the start page in the message pane. Where as on today's trunk build the message stays in the message pane. Quick launch is enabled and I have multiple profiles. On the branch build 07-09 shows the same results as 07-03 trunk builds.

I backed out the rdf change and could still see this bug. I also backed out all of jst's changes, and the bug was still there. So, I installed yesterday's Gecko/20020708 Netscape/7.0b1+ build and, lo, the bug is in yesterday's build too :-)

This changed behaviour between the 07/07 8am build and the 07/08 8am build. The URL is for the checkins in that period, but nothing leaps out as an obvious candidate to me.

(I'm not bad at guessing. First try :-). This changed with jag's checkin, rev 1.115, of dom/src/base/nsDOMClassInfo.cpp But I don't think that necessarily means the fix is bad. Perhaps the mailnews window was relying on some dubious behaviour in the chrome/content model.

Like Tuukka said, the patch for 156368 also fixes this bug. Leaving open for racham to figure out if there is anything else to do, but looks fixed to me.

Sheela Ravindran, is there any reason to keep this bug open?
