Details

Some websites will create an extra history item in the browser, preventing the user from using the back button to navigate back to the previous page.

A common example of this would be Bing. If you open a private browsing window and search for something, pressing back will simply reload the same page. This happens only the first time you search (which I believe has something to do with how they handle logins) unless you are logged in.

Other websites exhibit similar behaviour and it appears to be exclusive to Firefox. We should research and address why this is happening and potentially roll out a patch to fix it because it does break the functionality of Firefox and potentially trap less technical users (who don't know to hold down the back button) on that page.
