Details

Type a url containing an anchor into into the URL bar and type <Enter>.

The URL in the the HTTP request over the wire (for instance, viewed by Ethereal)
will be truncated; the "#" character and everything after are gone.

This is on release 1.0.
This is correct... the part after the '#' is for the browser to use to scroll to
the right place in the document; it is not supposed to be sent to the server
(which would interpret it as part of the filename).
I'm sorry.  A review of RFC2396 shows that I was confused.  Nevermind.
