Yesterday, while we were bikeshedding about bug 1567429 in a Zoom meeting, the idea of melding the existing l10n nightly artifacts within the dated (enUs) ones, came up. We always had two different locations for nighty artifacts but in the spirit of shippable builds which assumes nightlies should resemble more and more to normal releases, maybe we should revisit this logic.

This is to track:

  • the effort of exploring if this is doable
  • what else consumes those artifacts and needs to change
  • (if we get consensus from l10n team too) the patches themselves

The benefit of this long term is we consider a single directory for all artifacts regarding a nightly release. This for example can helps us kill all individual checksums and their signatures and instead add a big-fat 512SUMS like we have in non-nightly releases. But in order to do that, we need a single home for these artifacts.

I wouldn't mind this, CCing flod, too.

Had a todo for Monday to ping & ask for approval from your side regarding this. Hah, nice to see this :)
