Have you correctly symlinked the plugin ? Mozilla will crash if you incorrectly copy it to mozilla's plugin folder.

Reporter, besides making a symbolic link instead of copying the java plugin lib, you need to link the one under .../plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so, if mozilla is gcc compiled, not ns610, which is for Forte compiled mozilla.
OK - it was the sym link through ns610 that was the problem. Thanks you very much for the help!!! dkr
