Details

Using Windows 10, latest Nightly.

STR:

  1. Customize the toolbar so that the URL bar will be shorter than this url:
    https://kimcartoon.yt/watch/voltron-legendary-defender-season-7-episode-04.989O7WOA.html/
  2. Open said url, verify that the URL text gets the fade-out effect
  3. Play the video, switch to full screen
  4. Close the full screen

AR:
No fade-out effect until you switch to a different tab and go back

ER:
Fade-out effect should.. still be in effect.

Priority: -- → P3

Hmm should probably be higher than a P3. Feel free to update if anyone disagrees.

Priority: P3 → P2

Doesn't sound UrlbarView-related, UrlbarInput if anything. Is this a quantumbar regression?

No longer blocks: quantumbar-view

Sorry, didn't read closely enough. Thought this was about URLs in the popup, not the input.

No. I managed to reproduce this in a 2016 (or 2017? unsure) Nightly build.
Not sure if that's even a regression, I stopped bisecting there.

Priority: P2 → P3

This issue seems to have been introduced when the fade-out effect was first introduced In Nightly.
Range is 2017-05-10 to 2017-05-11.

Mozregression couldn't bisect further.

bug 653670 is probably the one that introduced this.

we are likely just not resetting some attribute on exiting full screen content, likely we never did it correctly.
