157143 - joins.com takes several minutes to load (also on 4.x)

Back by popular demand it's the international browser clubs' favorite
website...joins.com

seen on commercial trunk builds:

windows 2002-07-12-04-trunk
linux 2002-07-12-04-trunk
mac os9 2002-07-12-03-trunk

this may have appeared back on Wednesdays builds (the last time I tested
trunk)but I assumed it was a joins server problem. Anyway, the following is what
I've seen happening:

-goto www.joins.com
notice that the status bar endlessly reads "transfering data from www.joins.com...."
-wait as long as your patience can stand  (the page doesn't end up loading)
 and a time out message does not eventually pop.
note that clicking on the "stop" button doesn't do anything...the page continues
to "transfer", throbber shining all the while.
-next, exit the attempted loading by going to another site (I clicked another
bookmark from the sidebar)
as soon as you do this a popup ad appears from the joins.com site

Also, clicking the Stop button DOES stop the transfer and stop the spinning
logo on my build 2002070308.

seeing this on branch builds also

this maybe a problem at the joins.com site.  I tested this on windows with 4.x 
and get similar endless loading.  The popup adf appears with 4.x, but the page 
does the endless loading.

Although after letting linux branch build load for several minutes, the popup ad 
did appear and some content is forming in the main window....ah it finished 
loading the page as I'm typing this...it took nearly 10 minutes to load the 
page.

no longer seeing this. perhaps they changed the site again or was scriptable
flash landed and making this work properly?

anyway, marking fixed.
