  • Firefox Nightly 70.0a1, Build ID 20190805095413

[Affected Platforms]:

  • All Windows

[Prerequisites]:

  • Have the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.asrouter.devtoolsEnabled pref set to true.
  • Have Discovery Stream turned on or have 4 rows of Top Sites and 4 rows of Highlights filled with content.

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Start the browser with the profile from prerequisites.
  2. Open a new tab and scroll down the page until the Search bar would no longer be visible.
  3. Observe the behavior.

[Expected results]:

  • The Search bar is stuck to the top of the page.

[Actual results]:

  • The Search bar is not displayed.

[Notes]:

  • The issue is reproducible on the about:welcome page.
  • The issue is more easily reproducible with Discovery Stream on.
  • Attached a screen recording of the issue.

This is expected behaviour as of 67 (I will add this to the technical docs), however, we might want to consider implementing this as a follow-up
