1571727 - No longer able to add new recipient with the return key

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0

Steps to reproduce:

1. Write a new mail
2. Add a recipient
3. Press the return key to add a new recipient

Actual results:

Nothing

Expected results:

A new "to" field should appear like it was in Thunderbird 60 (probably also on TB 68)

This is an important issue because keyboard-only users like blind could no longer add new recipient to their mails.

I don't know if this issue is present on stable release because I'm running only Thunderbird Daily.

Hi Alex,

I am not sure it is a bug actually. It seems to be a design change which is not necessarily a prooblem for accessibility (I am not sure of this, we should discuss).

To add new recipients, after you enter the first one, press , (comma), then tab or enter. It will create the new field to add a new recipient. At least that is what I do here.

What is the logic behind this? Do you think this is the way the user should go with?

FYI, I've never added comma and it has always work.

Looks like the same as bug 1569492. We need to make some changes to auto-complete.
