n7p1 a user configures their return address as user@exampl.com their mail server is smtp.example.com the user tries to send mail to user@example.com which is their email address sending the message fails. (An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: rejected: administrative prohibition) <OK>. problem to be addressed: this is *NOT* OK. the user panics and spends a few days trying to figure out what they did wrong, including contacting their isp (example.com) who provides the following errant suggstions: 1. set the smtp server port to 110 (pop) 2. n7(or mozilla) are not supported, please use something else steps to address the problem: Add a button or link to view a transcript of the smtp session. why this helps. When reading smtp:5 logging, we see EHLO exampl.com we thought that was a bit strange. later we see that the receipt from is user@exampl.com and that the server rejected it.
