User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0
Steps to reproduce:
After starting the TB (using the Preference Manager or not -- I only have a default profile),
In Preferences > Composition > Addressing > Edit Directories > Edit
I clicked on the Offline tab
Actual results:
TB hung -- The Apple spinning ball appeared and stayed spinning (> 5 minutes). The Force Quit application showed TB as "Not responding". I had to force quit TB.
Expected results:
Another preference window should have appeared (to allow downloading the directory entries).
I then started up TB 60.8.0 and I did not encounter the spinning ball and was able to get to the expected window and download the directory. I then started up TB 69.0b2 and could not get to the expected window.
Also, the reason I did this was that loading info in 69.0b2 from the LDAP server did not appear to work as before (60.8.0). I am making a separate bug report (bug #1574248) for that as I can't tell whether these are two bugs or one.

Hmm, I can edit the directories on Windows. Richard, can you please try this on Mac. For testing we use:
ldap.adams.edu (Base DN: ou=people,dc=adams,dc=edu) or ldap.mit.edu, but don't hammer them ;-)
Also note that if you add or edit a server, the port number box is not aligned correctly.

Maybe related to bug 1574322 which also claims a hang on opening a standard window.

This works for me on TB 69 on Mac.
The misalign seems to come from the textbox > html:input conversion. Does it look correct on TB 68?

Thanks for checking, did you try with TB 69 beta 3 build 2 from here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/candidates/69.0b3-candidates/build2/
Already looking bad in TB 68, Aceman suggested a fallout from the de-grid.

Tried TB 69.0b2 and also TB 70.
De-grid is 70 only. The html:input is missing a 4px margin on left/right which the <textbox> has.

My mistake. I'll file a new bug for the missing indent. EDIT: Bug 1574406.

please add hang keyword in such cases (even if it might end up a duplicate, or other aspects are still undetermined)

But does the hang affect 68?

(In reply to Magnus Melin [:mkmelin] from comment #8)
But does the hang affect 68?
No. In TB 68.0, the window successfully appears. (However, when I click on "Download", the download fails. Probably that failure relates to bug #1574248 so I'll add that symptom there.)
