User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/76.0.3809.100 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Double-click a message to open it in a tab, return to the "Inbox" tab, double-click another message to open it in the second tab, return to the "Inbox" tab, position the mouse above the "x" button of the first message tab, click it to close the first message tab. The pointer should now be above the second message tab "x" button (because the first tab has closed). Now, without moving the mouse, click again on the "x" button.

Actual results:

The tab remained open.

Expected results:

The tab should have closed.

Works fine in TB 68.

Works fine in TB 68.

Does it work even when you click relatively fast? Like, at double-click speed?

If yes, then are you suggesting to wait for release and that's it?

Sorry, but double-click doesn't make sense. Closing one tab and moving another one into its place takes more than the double-click time.

OK, here's my problem.

I open a bunch of messages in various tabs. Once I'm done with them, I position my mouse over the "x" button of the first tab and start mashing the left mouse button like crazy to close them all. The problem I have is that only the first tab closes, and in order to close the second one, I need to move the mouse, but stay within the boundary of the "x" button. With a large number of tabs, this becomes tedious fast. And sure, I could use the "Ctrl+F4" keyboard shortcut for this (since there is no "Close all tabs" option I can find), but I don't.

I realize this is a weird bug to describe and to test/verify, but its been bugging me (pun intended) for a reasonable amount of time up until this point to resort to submitting it here. And honestly, sometimes (extremely rarely) it works as intended for me as well, but most of the time it doesn't.

All in all, if you say it works in a future-release version, I'll wait for that.

Just to let you know, I got updated to 68.1.0 (32-bit) today and the problem I was describing persists.

I've attached a video showing what's going on. The "Test 1" message tab closes, but as I continue to click the left mouse button (vigorously), the "Test 2" message tab stays opened until I stop clicking repeatedly and start again. (This is new, by the way. In the previous TB version I had to stop clicking, move the mouse a bit and start clicking again. So, it seems the new version did bring some improvement in this regard.)
