User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0
Expected results:
When a website asks for a permission or does something actively (e.g. extension install, location request), a relevant icon appears next to the identity icon.
However, when a tab makes sound, it only appears on the tab itself.
Hence I propose adding an icon next to the identity icon (and as a permission in the identity box) for easily toggling whether the current tab can make sound. See attached file for a concept.

Hmm the identity panel is already quite full and we couldn't really replace the tab button since you would want to mute tabs while on another tab, so I fail to see the usefulness of this.
Bryan, any thoughts on this? WONTFIX or something we want to do?
Thanks!
Icons that appear in the URL bar are limited to blocked permissions and security-related information. That the sound is playing is essentially the expected behavior, and users don't need confirmation that "it's working."
Showing icons in the URL bar is something we try very hard to limit, and we can't justify repeating an icon that already appears in the tab bar here in the URL bar.
