From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530
BuildID: 2002053012
Reproduced on two computers:
Windows XP with Windows Media Player 8 installed.
When Mozilla is the default browser in the OS, then Windows Media Player can no
longer display the Windows Media Guide and the Radio Tuner will no longer work.
They generate error messages that the computer is not connected to the Internet.
This error usually occurs when active scripting is turned off in Internet Explorer.
Something about Mozilla being the system default browser causes these components
of WMP to not function. This happens even when no browser is running. Switching
the default browser back to IE rectifies the problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.On Windows XP, install Mozilla 1.0
2.Make Mozilla be the default browser
3.Start Windows Media Player from the Start menu (not from any browser)
Actual Results: Windows Media Guide and Radio Tuner no longer work within
Windows Media Player (stand-alone)
http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html has information on what makes radio
tuner and media guide not work.
"Q: Why doesn't the Radio Tuner or Media Guide work for me? I just get a black
screen...
A: This is because you would have turned off Active Scripting within IE's
Tools:Options:Internet Options:Security Settings dialog. If you reenable this,
the guide and tuner should work again."
