Steps to reproduce:

If I want download some file with punctuation and spaces in name, it will be shorted and damaged.
testet on documents (pdf and ODT), but seems to be general failure
ex: "Výkaz 2019-J.J.Holz.pdf", "Rozvrh služeb - červen 2019.odt", "Mountain-tracks 6.2018.pdf"

Actual results:

  • file is downloaded, but filename is truncated to the first part into punctuation (e.g. "Výkaz", "Rozvrh", "Mountain-tracks")
  • file suffix is missing
  • file cannot be opened from download tab/ download manager (but can be opened directly from android download menu)
  • android show warning, that file is executable and could harm computer, file is not show in my document or last download folder

(it seems, that main problem are dots, filename with spaces and dashes is not truncated)

Expected results:

download and keep full filename with extension

Did not reproduce issue of missing suffixes, no truncation of the filename and neither the impossibility of opening them from Menu/Tools/Downloads, with Google Pixel C (Android 8.0.0) and Sony Xperia Z5(Android 7.0) on Firefox RC 68.0.2, Firefox Beta 68.1b8 and Firefox Nightly 68.1a1:

What device and firmware are you using?
Have you tried with the latest builds?

Due to the fact that I did not reproduce the issue with several formats based from description I am going to close the ticket with status WORKSFORME.
